ForeRunner 945 and LCM

I have noticed that when I wear my Garmin in the pool, when set to SCY, the calories add to my active calories. However, when set to LCM, the calories from the swim do not count to my active calories.

This does not cause my knickers to be in a knot, but seems to be an oversight in the software you may want to correct. Unless I am getting something incorrect?

  • SCY? LCM?

Much harder to understand posts when using TLAs

  • My apologies, you get used to TLAs. Happy to clarify. Short Course Yards (SCY) and Long Course Meters (LCM), So it has to do with swimming. Odd that the activity counts to active calories when short course yards, but not when long course meters.

  • Ok, i know Garmin is based in the US and maybee they understand that. But the rest of the world has too google it and than to learn that „Short Course“ is normally 25m, a totally useful metrics, but you reference to 25yards. I didn’t get what you mean with Long Course Meters, i would guess you mean 50m.

So if you swim indoors with a pool length of 25 yards, your activity calories add up to the active calories of that day (wich also include walking, maybe a bikeride to the pool etc). If you set it to 50? Meters, the calories of the swim will not count to tha active calories of the day?

Wich software are you running? Did you do a reset (pressing Light button until it powers off) to see if some bits are stuck in the memory?
