Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Forerunner 945 to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Forerunner945_685Beta.zip. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Copy GUP3114.GCD from the RemoteSW folder to \Garmin\RemoteSW on the device.
  4. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
  5. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, place the GUPDATE-620.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder. Rename GUPDATE-620.GCD to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device. Copy GUP3114-702.GCD from RemoteSW\Downgrades to \Garmin\RemoteSW on the device and rename to GUP3114.GCD. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • No problem here. Sleep data available as id watch as in android app. Only "problem" text is not localized as all other data, all in english..but it's highly valuable already.

  • Thank's! Good work, that's why I buy your stuff again and again.

  • Sleep widget problem. Last night I was asleep for 2345 hrs and woke this morning at 0720. The 945 is often out on sleep and wake time and I manually edit both times in the GC app on my phone. The watch running the beta firmware had me dropping off to sleep around 0021 hrs.

Anyway..after editing the sleep and wake times within GC...once the app resyncs with the watch the sleep and wake times revert back to the wrong ones. There appears to be no ability to manually edit the sleep/wake times on the watch itself.

  • Hi!
I wondered the same when editing the sleep time. I had to change it in both parts in the app: I see sleep time and sleep quality data fields in the iOS App, in both you can change the time. Maybe it’s enough to change it in the NEW sleep quality field, i don’t know (yet). For sure its not enough to change it where we were used to do it.

Really awesome that such a big update with new functionality has been realized, thank you! Thumbsup

  • As for sleep widget everything is working as expected. Many thanks Garmin !

  • Looks like it appeared on Android app as well after few hours. Thanks!

  • Another so far happy beta user. Installled yesterday, sleep widget worked over night and I have done my first ride in to the office this morning, all sensors and data as expected. WHR is fine after finishing activity etc.

  • Sleep widget works well.

Such a long wait for sleep widget, since June 2020 announcement, 10 months !!! despite same hardware platform as Fenix 6.

  • I've seen a similar effect on at least two watch faces. Heart rate, seconds, and steps either stutter, freeze, or go blank. Button presses restore, sometimes fixes itself then happens again a couple minutes later.
