Livetrack stops working after a couple of seconds

Hi,

Since some time I have an issue with my Forerunner 945. When I start an activity Livetrack starts automatically as it should, I want people to know were I am when exercising.

The watch displays "livetrack started" and I get the notification on my phone. The problem is that after a couple of seconds I get the message "livetrack ended" and the livetrack notification on my phone is also gone. The livetrack on the website also stops working.

Does somebody else experience the same issue?

How can I fix this?

Kind regards.

  • What phone ? I have no such issue with 945+sony@Android (9/10)

Check your phone for power settings - it may be that it kills Garmin Connect application which need to be run in background during livetrack session.

  • Hi,

Ah, yes, that would be smart from me to add it. I have a Noka 7 plus with Android One so it should be as close to stock Android as possible. The Android version I have installed is 10 with security update 1 March 2021.

What kind of power settings? I checked the settings for the Connect app (version 4.40) and I don't see anything that I can or should change.

Also I find it strange that this was working for almost a year and now it suddenly stops working.

  • Any updates on this problem? Experiencing the same atm. Always used to work like a charm, and now it stops working after a couple of seconds.
