6.20 & Jaybird Vista

Hi team has anyone tested the new 6.2 software with Jaybird Vista? Back up and running? Please say yes...!

  • I can confirm that prior to 6.2 I was running 6.04 beta with Jaybird Vistas and all was good with none of the original issues.

However, the last 2 mornings my watch wouldn't even find my Jaybirds. I had to reset my both Vistas and watch to get them to pair. I wondered why this was and then saw that 6.4 had replaced my 6.04 beta.

I hope it's not a sign of things to come now that 6.4 has installed. I'm hoping it's just a teething issue and things will settle down. I'm on a rest day today so haven't been able to get out and test again. I'll update again after the weekend.

  • This update has not fixed my connection issues. Have updated to 6.2. Deleted pairing in the watch, restarted the watch, factory reset the Jaybird vistas and then reconnected everything. 5 minutes into the activity the head phones begin the disconnecting and reconnecting. It is still not fixed.

Update: Just did a 6 mile (42 minutes) run, No phone, BT had already been deleted from phone anyway prior to Factory reset. 4 dropouts in the first 20 minutes. Took longer to reconnect, about 1-2 minttes. Would often reconnect with no audio and disconnect again. All this had to be done manually as it never automatically reconnected like it did previously. After 20 minutes, despite the headphones "reconnectin" 10-15 times manually, with both audio and visual confirmation on the watch, I could not get audio to play through the headphones again. ONce connected, the play button wouldnt even change to the pause button like when audio was playing. Is it fixed? absolutly, 100% not. But is different, really worse, but also different. I really hope they fix it.

  • Not for me.

Very annoying. I am starting to detest the "not connected" audio prompt.

Maybe the Forerunner 945 is a broken device by design and cannot be fixed, unlike the Forerunner 245 Music.

  • Sadly, do not update to 6.2 if you can help it!! Same connection issues here! Music won’t stay connected once my 945 paired with my Jaybird Vista. Sadly, that connection issue seemed fixed on the previous version. Very frustrating! I’d suggest to wait until next fix update.

  • Thanks for the feedback guys - very disappointing. Hopefully will be looked at soon.

  • Forerunner 245 Music user here. Can confirm FR245M also still has this issue with software version 6.2.

  • 945 with Jaybird Vista on 6.20. Still connection problems. How can such a basic feature be broken for so long?

What has Jaybird said?  Garmin works well with many brands as does Jaybird. These forums are filled with issues with the Jaybird Vistas and Garmin not fixing it. Why does that burden fail on Garmin and not Jaybird?  It's a two-way street.

  • What I can say is that my Jaybird Vistas works perfectly with all my other devices (TV, laptop, mobile phones, tablet and desktop computer). I have issues just with the Garmin 945, mainly since the last two firmware updates.
I like the Garmin 945 very much, but these issues reminds me of my last days with a Nokia device.

I can say the same with my 945.  It works great with 3 different makes of headphones. This is what I was trying to point out in my post.  The common denominator is both work well, but not with each other. What I mean by a two-way street is neither company is responsible to make it work with the other, though I'm certain both sides would be happy if they did. If the last Garmin update didn't make it work, why not contact Jaybird?  Maybe an update on their end would help.
