I have a revD 945 and the down button is basically dead zero tacticle feedback. Do watches with clicky buttons stay clicky?

One of the buttons on my first 945 went soft. After reading about the problem I reported it to Garmin, they swapped out my watch and haven't had a problem since
I agree but on the other hand they may work now but mine is getting worse and worse and I want this watch to be with me for years.
Had the replacement for a year

That's good news How long have you had the replacement?

I'd had the original one for about 8 months before replacement. I guess the problem started occurring 6 or 7 months into using it
That's good the watch buttons are solid then.

I have a 935 and a 945. Both were bought within the first week of their release. Neither has "a clicky" feel that's coveted by so many for reasons beyond me. We should start referring to it as "picky" buttons. Anyway, neither has ever failed when any of the buttons are pressed. Same goes for the wife who got hers at the same time. I'm sure yours will be OK too.
Thing is it's a £450 watch and the buttons on the 1 euro watches down the chinese supermarket work better. My down button is horrible to press it might as well be touch screen and we will see in a year or two.

What do you mean by "work better"? The buttons perform a function and they either work or they don't. A "clicky" feel is a preference and nothing more when it comes to the functionality of the buttons.

The only time you'd press a button and not look at your watch to see if the screen changed is if you were recording laps. If the buttons are working without a click feel and you require or want that sense of security of knowing it worked without looking, go into GCM under Sounds and Alerts and set the button press to give you an audio tone, vibrate, or both. My 935 is coming up on 4 years old in the next two months. Absolutely zero click on any of the buttons and it's never failed me.
