MoveIQ and Training Load

Do move-IQ events contribute to training load?

I could imagine that, especially, my many bike rides would contribute to my low aerobic training load.

But so far, the only thing I see that move-IQ events do, is showing a little grey icon in my body battery graph... If that is all, what is the point of registering these events?

  • I didn't didn't notice any benefit to it when I had Move-IQ activated, ended up turning it off cuz my walks and mowing etc already  trigger steps and daily calorie burn.  Didn't see much point in them.  However, I record most activities.  If I think it's worth a training load of some sort... I just start an activity.  Just a couple clicks of watch.

  • No, it doesn't contribute to Training Load.

The Move IQ events help the body realize the stress is due to "exercise" and not general life stress.

Also, I think the HR sensor changes from strobing to always on, which helps HR accuracy.

  • I switched it off around two weeks ago as it seemed to think ~80% of walking were elliptical activities (eg walking to work, to shops etc). At the time I raised a case with Garmin & they seemed interested so maybe they'll fix it in time. Going by the many other threads here about MoveIQ I don't think it's anyway accurate currently. Haven't seen any difference in the other stats since,

  • I also deactivated it after a good 3 years of use, because I have the feeling that my dog walks totally worsen my recovery time with move IQ, especially when the dog walk is arround 1hour after a harder running or cacling workout, but the Training Load himself isn't impacted
