Unstable USB connection

When my 945 is connected to a PC, the plug in the watch end is very sensitive/unstable. If I touch the watch at all it usually disconnects and reconnects once or twice or even 5-6 times after I put the watch down again. It's been like this since the watch was new.

Could be the plug or the socket on the watch, or a SW bug related to the accelerometer?

The plug pins and socket look fine.

Anyway, just wanted to check if anyone else has this problem before I contact support.

the 935 and other garmin devices have this behaviour. mine have too.

normally i find they are ok when new but get slightly worse as the months progress.

one thing i would try is blowing in the watch port to ensure excess moisture is blown out. that seems to sometimes help.

otherwise you have to live with it or send the device back.

Buy a spare cable - it helped me with similar issue.

i have similar the same prob, but what helped me:

first connect the cable to your FR945, give it to a good place and plugin the USB to the computer, when i connect first the usb cable to the computer and connect the FR945 later then i have mostly disconnects

You shouldn't be touching the watch. Mine is 6 months old and I don't see the disconnection problem unless I touch it.

Try cleaning the watch and cord with a Q-Tip and alcohol.
