Treadmill questions

Two quick questions.

1) Does treadmill running (probably using a RUNN sensor) count for normal and challenge running badges?

2) Does treadmill running and walking if you're not holding onto the heart rate sensor count for steps?

  • I don't do the challenges, so I can't answer (1), but for (2):

As long as the watch is moving in the motion of a step it will. If I'm working at a treadmill desk like I rigged up while working from home last year, no steps are registered (even using a foot pod) as the watch did not move while on my wrist. I stuck the watch in my pocket and it noticed movement that way, counting toward daily steps.

  • 1) yes

    2) as long as you wear the watch: yes (or you wear the new HRM-Pro, or both)
