I have a 945. I live in Norway, so in the winter I often wear my watch on my arm with several layers of clothing between the watch and my skin. When i need to record heart rate, i use a strap, but sometimes i just go on an easy run (or cross-country skiing), and dont want or need heart rate, so i leave the strap at home. The problem is that the watch records some sort of bogus heart rate anyway, and that messes with my recovery time and training status. In the summer i also sometimes go for easy bike-rides without the heart rate strap, and the watch is sitting on the bar, but it still manages to come up with som sort of heart rate recording. Is it possible to stop the watch from doing this?
