Heart Rate not picking up / droppin

I received the 945 for Christmas to replace my older 935. I’m having an issue with the 945 not picking up my heart rate in my wrist but my 935 never had an issue. I have tattoos on my wrists and went with the Garmin because Apple Watch sucked and couldn’t read my heart rate because of the tattoo. Is this the same issue with the 945?

You can do more simple tests.

Try on another wrist (can be yours or someone else) or a finger over the sensors. Do you see HR?

935 vs 945, I am not sure if there is a HW difference for the OHR.

935 Elevate 2 sensor, 945 has the Elevate 3.

So that explains why different sensors behave differently.

Very likely. The Elevate 2 watches have 3 green sensors grouped like a triangle. the Elevate 4 watches have two green and two red in a vertical line.

I presume the newer sensors are more accurate but more sensitive to skin (pigmentation, tatoos, etc).

The older sensors are less accurate but less sensitive.
