Forerunner 945 Strap

Hi, I have seen a few people saying that they have experienced this annoying creaking noise from the strap that comes with the 945. Happens every evening (must be dust or whatever getting in between the level and the band). Whilst I understand rinsing it makes it temporarily go away, this is very annoying. Can people confirm if it goes away over time?

This issue combined with the dodgy button feelings are both quite irritating on a new purchase (second 945 i've tried).

Is it worth buying torx 6 screwdrivers to try tightening/loosening the connection?

Creaking noise? How would this happen? How is the watchband even moving where it would cause any type of noise? What part of the band is making a sound? I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I just never heard such a thing and can't figure out how a watchband would make any sound.

I didn't see your second post when I replied. If it's the watchband pins causing the noise, it wouldn't hurt to get the screwdriver to make sure they're not loose. You'll need two so the other end doesn't spin while tightening. It could also be the pins on the watch body making it noise. A small drop of silicon lubricant won't hurt and it actually prolongs the life of the rubber on the strap.

I’m guessing it’s either happening from the band rubbing against either side of the connection or the screws not being tight and the whole thing rotating instead of staying in place. Otherwise there is no explanation.

would rather not have to spend 10 euro on two screwdrivers to solve it but hey, it’s a great watch otherwise so I guess I’ll have to!

I will look into lubricant also. Safe to spray without removing the strap?

Try a spray that has a directional straw/tube at the end. Easier to apply and no mess. :)

I think you are probably wearing too tight. I don't hear such creaking noise and I am wearing it 24/7.

But I agree on the button feelings. They work fine though so I just ignore.

I mean the tightness of one’s watch is a personal preference; can’t be too tight or too loose. I hope the spray works.

Spray on a strap? Kind of yucks and not appropriate to use one. But if it works for you then good.

Yes it can. Too tight and it might restrict the blood flow; too loose and the OHR might not 'see' the blood pulsing through your veins. Either way could adversely affect optical heart rate.
