(Known Issue) GPS accuracy on Jan 01 2021?

Just had a run with my 945. GPS was way off during the run, I mean about 50-100 meters off reality during the whole route.

Has anyone else had this today? Using GPS+Glonass setting.

Not impacting everyone, but it is a system-wide issue impacting multiple device types, not only Garmin devices.

Woke up this morning and my CPE had updated to "current" overnight (UK). Did a workout this afternoon and GPS tracked fine.

Unfortunately no improvement. The CPE file has been updated and is now "current". Then I did a 15s restart. Went outside and tested: correct position after approx. 2 minutes after he was 300m away again. Want to start a run later: after 2 minutes I gave up waiting for the GPS and I'm off. After about 5 minutes he started to recognize movement, unfortunately 500 m away from my correct position. After about 40 minutes of running he finally had the right position and that went well until the end of the run. So it doesn't really work out yet. At least my Stryd gives me the correct distance / pace.

My CPE is current too. Already soaked for a few minutes. GPS was locked. But my starting position and routes were way off.

What is going on?

Edit: GPS fixed after deleting the whole remoteSW folder.

The Sony chipset was the issue. 935 uses a different chipset, more which not only did not had the issue but is more precise (but uses more battery)

Levon For me it was CPE recent as well, started a test walk - still completely off.
Stopped and restarted watch. Waited a while after the GPS was found. Walk back was right on track then. so if anyone is still having problems, maybe a restart can help.

Had two outings today, with GPS + Galileo on a VivoActive4. Both were spot on. Previously all outings since Jan 1 were hundreds of yards off. It seems, at least for me, things are resolved. It even shows which side of the street we were on.

I only use GPS to minimize battery consumption, today the track is back ok also in Italy.
