Forerunner 945 + TACX T2080 Genius = training logs and ability to ride with movie on TACX Mobile App

I am able to easily connect my forerunner 945 with all tacx sensors. Things are getting more tricky when I want to ride on tacx mobile app (with movie or training program) having at the same time all data synced with my 945 as it is sending training directly to Connect after.

it happened once when everything went smooth and all data were synced from tacx to mobile app and my 945. But it seems that it is randomly losing some data so tacx app can’t see power or cadence and the same sometimes happening with my watch (different combinations). Is there a way how to set this up successfully once? Smiley

Thanks for help!

  • it seems that a solution for these random issues is to connect everything (speed-meter, cadence, power-meter) with GF945 as sensors except trainer that is connected to TACX app on mobile. The only issue is that I’m not able to connect my HR strap from Garmin with TACX app to have it displayed but I can live without that.

  • I agree. From my experience, there are two solutions for iPad users:

    a) you need to delete the TRAINER sensor connection from your FR945 because this one interferes with resistance control that the TACX App should manage (same with Zwift). Unfortunately, when starting a workout on your Garmin watch every time you get a suggestion to add the trainer again. You need to skip this. Then - when activated, the BT wrist based HR broadcast will show up on  the mobile TACX App and be recorded into Garmin connect with the other data that come from the trainer that is paired with the Tacx app.

Disadvantage: seems not working well, when pausing a workout. Damn it. My conclusion:I will grab my Wahoo Dual HR and keep the watch off. Garmin could make it easier for us in providing “per workout based sensor profiles” (this would also prevent issues when opening a run workout profile while your partner is Zwifting nearby... my watch takes over controlling the smart trainer as all known sensors try connect to my watch at that moment) and also maybe allowing broadcasting the hr strap data via the watch when connected.

second disadvantage:  By  only using the watch as an expensive wrist based hr sensor that way, you will not get the training effect metrics as these are licensed with the watch.

    b) connect all Bluetooth sensors to the iPads TACX App including the wrist based FR945 HR and in addition all the ant+ sensors (including your *** strap hr sensor) to the FR945 and record the indoor biking in parallel to the TACX app. delete the TACX app workout later from Garmin connect. This is the ZWIFT way. Sometimes the order of connecting the sensors may make some hassle. Most stable experience for me was:waiting for the iPad app getting the sensors connected and AFTER that, opening the workout on your watch. If you first let the watch fetch all known sensors you may get into drops or totally wrong data displayed at the Tacx app.

@garmin: please provide us with a step per step guide how make use of the Garmin FR945 in combination with the TACX 4.14.1 app and a TACX smart trainer. Please! And check for paused workout scenarios, too and also, if the order in which you pair your sensors to the Tacx app does make any difference. I experienced sudden power data that disappeared when shutting my FR945 off.
