Daily suggested workout for Running – How does it work in detail

I use the daily suggested workouts as my only training plan and I’m a big fan of this feature!

Therefor I’m interested about all the details behind this algorithm. What I found so far is the following:

Very good description of the 7 different Run types from the Garmin fitness Blog: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/blog/fitness/daily-workout-suggestions-for-runners/

Which contain the following sentence: “Perform the daily suggested workout regularly, and you will discover a built-in periodization schedule. This means harder training weeks are mixed with more modest ones to avoid stagnation and help you shatter performance plateaus.

The Garmin Running Science page contain this sentence: “These patterns conform to well-established training periodization methods employed by top sports scientists and exercise physiologists.” https://discover.garmin.com/en-US/performance-data/running/#daily-suggested-workouts

On the Firstbeat pages I have not found information's about this feature. I only see the feature “Real-Time Coaching” which is not implemented in the 945: https://www.firstbeatanalytics.com/en/features/

The5krunner speaks about a “Firstbeat Engine”. https://the5krunner.com/2020/11/05/garmin-daily-workout-suggestions-running/

He also hints to “Big Data” analysis work of Thorsten Emig (https://emig-group.org/), but from my understanding this is not the Basis for Garmin.

Does someone has more information how this feature work in detail?

- Is it AI with Big Data analysis? Does it use our data to get better?

- Is it a well known algorithm?

- jbarelds  said that under the hood is working a TRIMP model. If yes, were can I find the details?

Thanks for new insights from you!
