Jabra Elite Active 75t with FR945 - dropouts?

Recently I was gifted a pair of the Jabra 75t headphones.  I love the headphones but have been experiencing severe dropouts when running outdoors while recording my activity on my FR945.  I have heard this problem existed with the 65t, but wondering if there is any fix for it?  I wear the FR945 on my left wrist.

  • You are not alone. The issue is seemingly impacting all Jaybird owners, and was introduced with a recent BLE update.

If it makes you feel any better, the combo (FR945 + Jaybird headphones) was a stable combo until this update. Hoping that they have a fix soon, because it’s really frustrating (though a fix was not bundled in a candidate release found in this forum for another watch model, so it’s not looking good)

  • Keeping it on topic with Jabra Elite Active 75t related comments.

I have not seen drop outs with my 75ts and my 945, however the connection to my phone from the 75ts is not fantastic

  • I had frequent drop outs with FR945 & Jaybird Vista the first run after latest firmware update - frustrating as the connection has been absolutely bulletproof since I purchased the watch & headphones. I couldn't even run a few minutes without music stopping no matter what I tired.

I have since done a reset on the watch, removed the headphones entirely, factory reset headphones and paired again. Have not had time to test properly, but a quick 10min run this morning no drop outs - good sign as it happened quicker than this previously.

  • I experienced dropouts today when the 75t was connected to both my phone and the FR945. No more dropouts after i disabled bluetooth on my phone.

  • I did have the 75ts connected to my iPhone and the FR945. But the iPhone disconnected after I left the house (I did not take it on the run with me).  I wonder if that would explain it?

  • I use Jabra Elite 75t (not active version) with my 945 and they work pretty well. Usually no issues but occasionally the sound will be a little choppy, sometimes I think it could be weather, etc. that can make a difference?

One thing that can definitely help is moving your 945 to your right wrist. I wear mine on my left wrist as well but with the Jabras the right earbud is the main earbud with the bluetooth receiver. When mine has been flakey I've sometimes switched my watch to my right wrist and that fixes it being closer to the primary earbud.

  • New Jabra Elite Active 75t user here. Tried with my FR945 for the first time today on a hike. When wearing the 945 on my left wrist (normal), I got very choppy playback as I was walking normally. When I held my wrist in front of my body (i.e., closer to my right ear), the choppiness disappeared. Switched the 945 to my right wrist also eliminated the problem. Not sure why the Bluetooth connection doesn't work well when 945 is on left wrist, less than 3 feet from the right earbud.

Because your body is in between. Bluetooth is a low power wireless protocol, and doesn't pass well between obstacles. (especially when talking about wearables rather than larger more powerful devices like phones and dedicated BT external speakers.

  • my 65T working perfect with watch on the left wrist, with Amazon music. hr and pace every minute during a running workout

you can try following things, go sure to update latest firmware on Jabra, go sure, that Jabra isn't connected to mobile phone twice (disable BLT). remove and readd the Jabras on your watch.  do a hard reset of the watch before
