Massive Battery Drain after v5.50 update

Something is going on. I am phasing on my 945 always massive battery drain since last update. For example with a 50% charge, one short 30min run and next day down to zero. I am using the watch since it hit the market and never seen this behaviour. I‘ll have to investigate more.

  • It appens to me often after 5.50...only soft reset solve it for some days....it seems it continues  playing music without buds.....

  • no problem at all. avarage of 4 day to load again with almost every day a workout

  • I agree.

Had to do factory reset to solve it fully.

  • I noticed the following. I used my watch only when working out before. Battery didn’t last long. I wore e Apple watch the whole day, but it gave me a rash. So i wore  my FR 945 more often and strangely battery last longer. Do know why. It is almost the same strang thing as with a fr 630. Shutting it off caused a battery drain and letting it on the battery lasted longer.

The same thing today.Yesterday i connected with pc and did 5.50upate.I charged the 945 the night and at the morning when i started cycling it appears 17%. One hour later became 0% and closed.

  • OHR on, Oxy during sleep, BT, WIFi on

    Watchface: Light&Dark (HR refresh 3sek, weather 30 min, night mode 24-7); 25 min GPS – 55h and 0,9%. No GPS > 0.83%/h

    Watchface: Infocal 0.71%, no gps = 5d14h

Generally before 5.xx it was similar (5d17h40) but WITH 5-6h of GPS on activity. 6 days with some GPS was possible.

  • APAC version here. Just updated to 5.50 yesterday. No battery drain issue.

    Watch face = No frills

    Spo2 = sleep only

    BT always on

    Wifi always off

I recommend to do a factory reset and use default watch face.

  • I had trouble as well. In the end I tried the usual reset but it didn't help. in the end I did a full factory reset and re-registered it and that sorted it, as good as ever now. It's annoying to set the screens back up the way I wanted them but it was worth it.

  • I ended up doing a factory reset and that fixed it. soft/hard reset holding the light button didn't make any difference. It's a bit of a pain putting the data screens back how I like them but it was worth it, battery life is as good as ever now, better than it was before the upgrade I think.

Short Update: I run a soft reset on Sunday and so far it looks good. No battery drain anymore. Cross fingers that simple fix helped for good.
