Stopping suggested workout a few seconds early corrupts file

I've noticed on a couple of daily suggestion activities that if I stop the activity a second or two before the watch says workout ended that the last step (cool down) appears to be corrupted and does not show the correct pace or distance, so tonight a 10 minute cool down at about 10:25 min/mile, is shown as having a distance of 0.08 miles and a pace of "-:-". This results is the overlap run distances being wrong and impacts training metrics.

  • Thanks for the Heads up. Hope they fix that, because I was actually just annoyed today, that garmin groups the laps after a finished suggested workout as 'run' along with the speed intervals. I was contemplating to stop the workout to try to get the last laps grouped as cooldown.

Quite a nice feature, but some small things to fix. Like that that annoying voice alert. Or showing an estimate of the total distance. I need to know where to turn around more than how long this training is going to take...

  • Appear to have found a solution.   Trimming the activity by a few seconds appears to resolve the issue of distance and pace but not training metrics

  • Ah, the intrigue continues, when I started my run today the missing distance from yesterday's cool down was added to the distance when I started today's activity. But no pace, etc, associated with this, just the missing mile in terms of distance. I only noticed after running about quarter of a mile that my recorded distance was 1.2 miles after a couple of minutes running.

  • This is even more intriguing as you seem to be suggesting that distance from a previously saved activity is being added to new activity. That should not be possible if the activities are stopped and saved properly.

Are you sure you know where that extra distance came from? Perhaps next time you start an activity you need to positively confirm the distance is zero before you start.

If you continue to see 'weird' things you might want to contact Garmin Support.
