FR945 not being recognised by Iphone

I have a 945 which for some reason stopped working with my phone - it doesn't connect and doesn't even appear as a potential bluetooth connection. I had the watch replaced by Garmin and it still has the same problem - I cannot get it to connect to my phone (or Ipad).

Phone is Iphone 7 on software 14.2. Watch is on 5.5.

Remove the watch from the phone's bluetooth connections.

Remove and reinstall the Garmin Connect app.

Thanks, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times.

the watch is not connected to the phone - when in pairing mode it doesn’t even appear as an option in the Bluetooth settings screen. I tried it with my friends newer iPhone and it worked fine. This is the second iPhone 7 (and second 945) I have tried it with and neither work so I assume there is a comparability issue that garmin isn’t telling me about?

Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help, you need to remove the device from the paired devices to be able to pair it again.

No, the watch is not paired. It has never paired. That’s the problem!

I had the same problem some time ago. I reset my watch to the factory settings. Make sure to make a backup of your data before resetting the watch.

From the settings of your iPhone --> bluetooth --> remove the watch

Reinstall the Garmin Connect app

Start a new pairing process from the garmin connect app: both from the watch and the phone
