Built-in Self Test: OHR Test

My FR945 recently started to exhibit some spontaneous high HR spikes, e.g. suddenly from 80 bpm to 180bpm for some seconds, then back to 80 bpm, sometimes more sometimes less but without any apparent reason.

I checked the internal built-in self test and maybe some of you with working watches which do not show any OHR problems could tell me your test results?

I have to admit that this is just a comparison test, without knowing what these values mean or what actually is tested, there is little insight except for that your test results are the same as mine.

My watch is SW 5.50

To run the test, do the following:

  1. wear your watch on your wrist
  2. turn off your watch until the screen goes blank
  3. press DOWN and keep it pressed. Press LIGHT and keep DOWN pressed until the Test screen appears
  4. You will see the main test screen with the small QR code on top
  5. press BACK several times until you see the OHR Test on top
  6. press UP and wait 5s
  7. press DOWN and wait 5s
  8. press START and wait 5s

My result is:

AGC: ------

LED Sample: 536907016

Heart Rate: 112 bpm

ILP Result: S2 Exceed Limits

LED Result: __

Stage 2 ILP Test Done

It would be interesting if anyone has another value for AGC or LED Result, same for ILP Result.

  • Update: apparently ILP Test will PASS if you do not wear the watch. LED Result however does not change.

Another interesting observation, while you run the test, I observed that maybe one RED LED failed:

One LED strip has red LEDS left and right and the other only on the left. Is that consistent with your observation, e.g. do you have red LEDs on both sides of both strips?

  • First check your HR before you check the OHR Hardware:

Mine is about 50 (counted) and my Numbers are exactly the same like yours. This test is nothing for us mere mortals, we can't get results from it wich are useful to us.

With exact same numbers, I even mean the same LED Sample.

    Edit:
Just call service and let them exchange your watch.

  • As I wrote, it's just for comparison reasons, e.g. when it shows the same for most people or if it differs. But of course you are right, it won't give any useful results just from the reading itself.

Anyways, I will also check with support.
