Edited activity not displaying the correct distance on Strava

I recently did an indoor rowing activity on the Concept 2 PM5. Well, It doesn't add the distance I rowed, just the strokes, so I saved the activity and manually added my distance to the activity in Garmin connect. It is automatically set to sync with Strava so Strava displays zero distance since it synced before I edited it. I tried downloading the edited .fit from Garmin, where I have added the distance, but when I upload it to Strava it still displays zero distance. Any idea on how to get Strava to display the updated distance?

Garmin writes edited distances seemingly not to the original data field. If you correct an indoor run on the watch itself, even before downloading it to your mobile, it will show up in Garmin Connect corrected…

My guess is that changes to the distance in Garmin Connect are not applied to the recorded .fit file. When you choose to download the file the option is 'Export original'. Garmin synchs the original .fit file to Strava.

Probably the information is somewhere on on the FIT that Strava doesn't read. Strava really sucks these things. You are most probably just out of luck, but can try to nag Strava to implement it.

But as it's Strava, I wouldn't hold my breath that they are doing anything about it..

Harmon implemented support for the C2 PM5. Now everything on the PM5 is saved into the standard indoor row app. Just update your watch.

Thanks! I think, I should have been more explicit. I was refering to editing the fit file :)
