Disabling audio & info during intervals

I have setup a workout consisting of warmup, 10 intervals and cool-down.

The interval parts are 3 minutes at a given speed - e.g. 5:15.

Is there any way I can turn of the audio prompt that says "outside range"? I run with BT headset and Spotify and it is extremely annoying to get the audio prompts interrupting the music and telling me that I am outside the specified interval.

It is much better for me to quickly check the watch to see if I am in correct range.

I see that there are a lot of alert settings in different menus, but I am not sure which ones to turn off.

Any ideas?

This cannot be the setting. This one is off in my watch. It seems more to be a periodic alert than an alert related to specific training intervals.

  • Bitti's suggestion I believe is just the normal notice of pace/HR during a run if selected.  For instance I just looked and Pace and HR were both set as 6minute for my watch, which is the normal notice for my current data during my activities.  NOT the notice during workouts that I am outside or within desired Range.

    edit:

    I see a setting in the App, under Garmin Devices / 'Watch945' / Audio Prompts / On-Device Alerts (????)

the description is a bit unclear to me, but I have it deselected , I swear my headphones prompt me for in/out of range?  BUT... now that I think  of it they might not and I just hear my watch!!  I'd deslect it if it is blue.

Sure sounds like the setting that would do the trick!

  • to make sure you see my edit: I see a setting in the App, under Garmin Devices / 'Watch945' / Activity Options / Audio Prompts / On-Device Alerts

  • Settings> Audio Prompts> Activity Alerts

  • Mcalista is correct - hadn't seen that setting.  Mine was OFF.

Figured I'd test the settings a bit, went into the App, under Garmin Devices / 'MyWatch945' / Activity Options/ Audio Prompts / On-Device Alerts  (also was off)

Toggled the setting 'On-Device Alerts' to ON in the App, Sync'd watch

Went back into watch /settings/audio settings/ 'Activity Alerts' was now ON

Thanks for all inputs and answers.

I did some testing and figured it out:

In Settings there is a menu item called "Audio Prompts". If I set "Activity Alerts" to "Off" - it will not give me any spoken messages during workout. Under "Audio Prompts" there is also a setting called "Audio Tones". If I set this to "Off" - it will not give me any audio tones through the headphones. I decided to have the audio alerts off, and the audio tones on.

  • Hi, I have a quite similar request. But I don’t want to turn off the tones at my Bluetooth devices, but for the Garmin 945 directly.

Has anyone an idea how this can be handled? Thanks in advance for your help.
