Physio True up problem

I have a Forerunner 945 on fw 5.50 and an edge 830 on beta few 6.25. I have physio true up enabled for both devices in the gc app but the 7day load data and recovery times remain different.

I use the 830 whilst doing zwift workouts and the fr945 for running 3 times a week. This morning I did an hr long zwift workout and made sure i synced the 830 using the gc app. Post workout the 830 told me to rest around 30 hrs. I then synced the fr 945. The load focus and 7 day load data on the gc app is still showing slightly different...the fr 945 is showing 0 hrs rest needed whereas the 830 told me to rest about 30 hrs after the zwift workout this morning.

Physio true up has worked previously between the two devices but currently the situation is quite frustrating. Anyone else seeing this?

  • I have the same problem with a Forerunner 945 (FW 5.5) and a Edge 1030 Plus (FW 3.0). Physio True-Up is enabled on both devices, but my trainingsstatus is completely out of sync for the two devices in garmin connect on the Android app and on the web - I don't understand why the data from the two devices is not merged - one person can have only one training status, not two different ones! Anyway all the data is imported to GC, why not bouild one training status out of that, why is there even the selection for the two devices?

Is there a way to bring them back to sync again? For the moment I try to record everything on the Forerunner only, not saving on the Edge - which is quite sad for such an expensive device, that I can only use it as a "display". I have the Edge only since a few weeks and Physio True-Up never worked correctly.

  • Just a point on Physio True Up - you need to sync 3 times to get everything lined up. Once from the Edge onto Garmin Connect, once to get the data from Garmin Connect onto the watch, and then again to get integrated metrics from the watch back onto Garmin Connect.

You need to sync 3 times in the other direction to get the results of a run onto the Edge (once from the watch, and twice on the Edge).

  • I'll give that a go. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Doesn't that syncing happen automatically if all devices are turned on? Then it should only be an issue with the most recent activities, but the historic data (older than a few hours or a day) should line up.

  • I've got an Edge 1030 and a 945 and see the same thing.

A thought I have is that I/we are misunderstanding what is supposed to happen with Physio TrueUp enabled.

    What is Physio TrueUp?

The following is shared across devices:

    • VO2 max
    • Recovery Time
    • Training Load
    • Training Load Focus
    • Heat/Altitude Acclimation
    • Race Predictor
    • Last Sport Widget
    • Last Run/Ride/Swim Widgets
    • Weekly and Monthly totals

It doesn't say that 7-Day Load or the values for anaerobic and high and low aerobic activities should sync.

When I check the values in the bullet list above I actually see the same values on both my devices.

  • Same for me here. As you can see one workout done with my FR945 was not taken into account in the load for my Edge 530...

I tried syncing several times but didn't worked through...

  • When I go to Training Status or 7-day Load, it doesn't show a Device.  You have a drop down that you have to select a device?  Is the website the same?

  • So even on the website you are seeing the issue.  hmmm - seems pretty basic at this point with True-Up being out for quite some time.  Strange, looks like some of your vo2max Cycle green data point days (and accompanied blue bar in Load) do impact your training load (black dot), but then a couple do not (~Nov 8th and 16) but 4th and 5th(?) looks like worked fine?!

Oct 28-29?  Two activities with no load impact to black line....?  Weird I looked at mine and I have a black dot on every day!  Even days without an activity or just a walk activity (no blue line bar cuz nearly zero load or zero)???

  • are you for real??

I'm having the same problem but I can't help thinking this is a process which should be transparent for users.

  • Yep. An absolute kludge of a process. But that's how it works. And it all lines up.

Note that Garmin Connect only displays Training Load on a per device basis, while the devices themselves show it on an intergrated basis. Go figure.
