Swim Alert - After Set Distances

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can set an alert to pop up when I reach set distances. Say 500m then 1000m then 1500m ?

At the moment, when I go into alerts and then select Distance, it comes up with a ' Set Lengths' option with a 1-100 range.

I have no idea what this is!

    Indoor swimming can't track distance directly. What it can track is when you change direction at each end. By counting the number of lengths (of the the pool) however, you can get distance for a known pool size. If your pool is 50m long, then 500m will be 10 lengths.

    The other way to do this would be to set up a Workout on Garmin Connect, with an interval duration of 500m.

    If indoors you can set it to alert every x number of lengths. If you wanted every 500m then you'd set it to alert you for 10/20 lengths depending whether you pool is 50/25m long. The alert is triggered about half way down the last length. It won't automatically record the time for the distance unless you press lap at the end of each 500m and lap again to start the next set. There is no autos-a feature for indoor swimming, just the one alert

    As noted you can set up workouts  to automatically record your sets during a pool swim activity.
