History Widget - Option for the user to select Time or Distance

At the moment the History widget shows only the time as a default setting. It would sounds more useful if I can see the distance in the chart...  Is it something that could be add as an option for the user? basically to have the chance to choose the distance or the time in the History Widget

  • I believe the answer to your question is that it is by design. The reason for that if you have running cycling and swimming on the same graph, swimming doesn't visibly look good on that graph. For example a swim session of 2000 meters (1.25 miles), on the same graph as a cycling activity of 40KM (25 miles) is going to be scaled so out of proportion that you wouldn't see them on the graph. That's also what the use is for the last run, last ride, last swim widgets are for so that if you are focused on training by distance they do offer just your weekly total alongside your previous activity. But I think the answer to your question on the history is that while a 40KM bike ride might take and 1:30 and a 2000 meter swim might take 30 minutes it's scaled to a magnitude of 4:1 instead of 20:1 on the graph.

I am open to the alternative though, if you can make a case for why it should be that way I'm more than happy to listen and understand. As a runner myself I'm all for better experiences for all of us.

  • yes I understand your point... that's why I suggest to add the possibility for the users to select the proper option in terms of time or duration... so the chart can be arranged based on the user needs. For a thriathete maybe it will be more useful the time, for an hard runner like me maybe it is the case to switch to distance... so in this case you will make happy all kind of users! :) what do you think?

  • I'm not sure what you're seeing.  I'm on FW 5.30 and when I look at the history widget it's showing my last activity (yesterday's cycling) with both the time and distance on the screen.  I just had the one activity for the day.  Maybe that's why?
