Battery Drain - 5.30

I've had the watch for a long while, through various software upgrades and I know to do a full power off after an upgrade or sometimes you get a bit of battery drain.

With 5.30, I'm getting 2.5-4.0% drain per hour. Nothing has changed on the watch or how I use it. Full power off done several times.

It was 100% 13 hours ago and now it's 55%.

Anyone else seeing this?

So here's battery drain - the elbow is when 5.30 appeared quickly discharging the watch so it powered off. Same happened again on the following charge and the next one is the same. There's been a few full power offs which have not changed the change in discharge rate ... help!

  • Have you checked with the developer that the app you are using has been upgraded for the new update?

  • Uninstalled it to be sure - let's see what it looks like in the morning 52% now!

  • Do you do a regular full power off or a 15 second reset power off? The second one always fixes battery drain after an upgrade for me.

  • Yes - as said, I've done that several times and I agree it has always worked for me until now.

  • I'm not seeing this behaviour on my 945, actually it's the other way around. Battery life is better than it was new from the box 1,5 years ago. Average battery consumption is currently around 0.473%/h with 5.30. That used to be between 0.850%/h and 0.900%/h with previous versions. With the same settings and usage. Between 10h and 13h GPS+Galileo activities, wearing it round the clock, pulse ox only during sleep and notifications limited to SMS and phone calls.

Maybe something's gone wrong during the update? I'm not sure if it's possible to reinstall the software, but that might be something to look into.

  • So it's now on 9% (16 hours later). So has lost 43% in 16 hours which is > 2.5% per hour... All non native software removed. No activities during this period.

seems like they doing this on purpose to make you buy a new watch from them quicker...too.

  • I'm now on 5.50 and still have this issue - have sent the contents of the watch to support. Hopefully something turns up as 100% battery doesn't last 36 hours and I'm having to charge daily.
