When was Forerunner 945 launched and comparison with 645 music

Hello,

can you please advise when Forerunner 945 was launched?

I own a 645 but I am not happy about the HR accuracy. Can you please advise if 945 would be a step forward or if the upgrade is not worth?

    I've found the HR to be about the same for both watches. I went from the 645 to the 945 only because I knew the 645 lugs will eventually break.

    If you have a look at DC Rainmakers reviews you might get the answer. I think it’s the same unit. 

    Remember the 645 is due to be replaced, I’m guessing within the next six months. You could wait and see if there’s a new unit coming.

    The 645 was released 03/12/18 and the 945 thirteen months later on 04/30/19.  I never owned a 645, but I upgraded from a 935 to the 945 and found the 945 better.  The 645 shares the same generation 2 Elevate sensor as the 935.  The 945 has the generation 3 Elevate sensor.  It seems to be an individual thing.  When the generation 3 sensor came out and was compared to the generation 2 sensor, some said it was better, some the same, and others worse.  So.....

    For daily driver, I don't think you really need a precise HR sensor. I have compared my 945 and vivosmart 4 during idle time. They give comparable bpm.

    If you are critical with HR on running, better get a chest strap.
