Disable Daily Suggested Workout

I have tried to disable the prompt as suggested:

1. Press Start
2. Select the Running or Cycling Profile
3. Press and hold the Menu button
4. Select Training
5. Select Workouts
6. Select Today's Suggestion
7. Press Start
8. Select Disable Prompt --> MISSING

The problem is that my daily suggestion is always REST for 10 days in a row and logically there is no proposed workout and that's why I can not disable Daily Suggested Workout. Is there any other way how to disable this?

  • Anytime there is something amiss like that on my watch in the past, a reset often does the trick.  Press and hold upper left button, don't let go, even when the emergency alert message shows... hold.... until screen goes black.

Turn back on.   Make sure you have your profile setup as well with an accurate maximum HR and weight.

It's weird cuz mine used to popup right after update (i think?!?)... now it doesn't...

Are you clicking 'Start' one more time once you see the workout description, almost like you are selecting start to do it.  Should get a black menu screen on the right (edit target data, etc... scroll down to disable prompt.)

  • The problem is as I said, I always have REST suggested because I'm training a lot and I actually really need rest. The problem is that if you have REST suggested you can not disable prompt. I guess this is a bug or a feature. I guess I will have to rest for 72 hours to have the ability to disable the prompt.

  • Very strange, I have never seen REST suggested, let alone for days?!!  I train 7 days a week, recently ran a 50k, sometimes multiple train multiple times a day (like today), will give base or recovery runs/rides... but never seen REST.  Even today for a double workout, my Suggested is a 32min Recovery Run.

Curious, are you wearing your watch roughly 24/7 to capture/log recovery and stress?  vo2max low compared to reality (watch data hasn't caught up?...or train indoors mostly? or trail runs?  (no vo2 score)?  Is watch new to you, load/vo2 scores haven't learned your history yet (low long term Load and Optimal-Load Range scores)?  Where everytime you get a Load score, it is more than your typical weekly Load.?  should catchup soon enough... :-/

  • No, nothing special. Except I'm really training a lot. I'm wearing a watch 24/7 for 6 months and I have (very) high Vo2MAX. The only thing I'm not good at is an anaerobic load which I think I don't need it badly because I'm running (ultra)marathons. I will wait until I will get suggested something other than rest.

  • Have a look in the Calendar widget. If th suggested workout is there you should be able to select it and work through to disable it.

  • Hi all,

I'm investigating what we can do with this. If you can reproduce the issue, @me and I'll be in contact. I've already reached out to the original poster.

  • I see REST days sometimes and I "exercise" everyday mixing running, cycling, strength and yoga (and sometimes swims). Doing primarily ultrarunning and did recently a 92k ultra trail run after biking a 94k MTB race. I think it is completly normal to see REST days especially when you train a lot. Rest should also be part of a good training program.

I wear my watch more or less 24/7 but the sleeping algorithm on the watch has its problems and could be improved. However, must be something wrong if REST is seen several days in a row unless you are sick and the watch "understands" that. Guess it is a bug if REST is seen when the functionality is turned off.

  • Well, if he doesn't rest, getting rest multiple days in a row doesn't seem so far fetched. I would prefer active recovery over rest anyways, but only once got it, over the rest suggestions.

  • I have the same problem. Today even the suggestion didn't pop up, I had to go directly into menu to see the suggestion and there I also can't disable it.

  • I can confirm I have the same issue with not being able to change suggested workout settings (disable) when suggested workout is Rest.
