Daily Suggested Workout - data field explanation

When doing a suggested workout the screen shows three datafields. The bottom right says “stegavstånd” in Swedish, meaning something along the lines of “step distance” in English. This doesn’t make any sense though, as it increases during the workout as can’t be anything near the distance of my step. Also it doesn’t really make sense to have as one of three metrics. Thus I guess that it means something else. Can someone please explain what? Slight smile

Br,

Robert

  • Think of the workout as having several steps. For example

    step 1: warmup

    step 2: run

    step 3: recover

    etc.

This field tells the distance you have traveled during that step of the workout, hence why it increases as you continue moving.

  • Thank you! So if the suggested workout is to run for X minutes with Y tempo. This field would pretty much just show the total traveled distance?

  • Why not set the watch to show the menus and text in English for the next run, then you will see what it actually is meant to be. Unfortunately, a lot of the translations from English to other languages, vårt eget svenska modersmål likaså, happens automatically by software so it's not always that it becomes correct. Asking the question above (in English), I think that you wouldn't have a problem with the watch even if set to English texts.

  • Small markets, bad translations, technical stuff, I always use them in english :)

Just came from a run, it had timer counting time on the left bottom and the pace for the step on the right bottom. But it was run for X minutes. So if you had run for X km, then it probably was counting the distance and step distance sounds proper english in this case. Step not meaning walking steps, but steps as 1. warmup 2. run 3. cooldown style steps.

And what it comes to translations, Amazon.se was pretty funny for some games :D eg. Titta på hundar 2 and Behöver du hastighet - återbetalning.. And didn't like to learn compulsory swedish and I suck at it..

  • I agree with

Each interval is a "step" and it is telling you how far you gone in that interval.

    It is not stride length.

It's confusing enough in English, much less after a translation. ThinkingSlight smile

  • Thanx all. Great tip to change to the watch language to English. Guess some thing will make more sense, but it also seems like the size of labels and names are more appropriate for the screen size when in English.
