edit: I just did a 7 km very smooth and quiet recovery run (41:33 min with an average pace of 05:52 min/km and an average heart rate of 123 rpm (lactate threshold is 04:35 min/km at 161 rpm).
Before that I was completely recovered and had also done little training in the last few days. Stress level low, good and regular sleep. Result: after the run the watch shows me "recovery" as a training effect (so far so good), but then a recovery time of 16 hours with a TSS of 47... In addition, it classifies my training as "unproductive" again and my VO2Max value drops again by one point... At the same time the watch tells me contradictory things: to the "unproductive" it tells me to concentrate on recovery. For "stress", it says that my stress level is too low... It all doesn't add up!
Please check this behaviour of the new firmware. It was always one of the main advantages of the Garmin watches that you had a good training control over it, but this way it makes little sense and certainly not fun!
Are the software updates region locked?
My device is still on version 5.0 for a month or two now. I have not received any of these recent new updates.
When I connected my device and synced with Garmin Express, it only says "You're up to date!", "Last Checked: Just Now", "Version: 5.0", etc.
Yes, there are APAC version and ROW as I have understood it. Asia Pacific and Rest Of the World. Garmin keeps the two tracks in parallel, sometimes with APAC ahead but most often dragging behind a bit.
