Zwift and Garmin footpod with HRM-TRI

I seem to have an issue with my 945 and Zwift. I have my 945 linked to my Garmin footpod and my Garmin hrm-tri. When running on Zwift (AppleTV) if I take my hrm-tri off my cadence goes to —. So it looks like the footpod doesn’t work with Zwift. (Both the hrm and footpod use ant+). When I bring up Zwift I see my watch as I select virtual run on the watch.

Also does the hrm-tri actually work with Zwift too?

  • Cadence comming from the HRM-Tri takes precedence over a footpod, so if you take the HRM-Tri off, but is still connected to the watch, then cadence still comes from the HRM-Tri, and since your HRM-Tri is not moving, hence cadence is --.

  • There is no direct connection between Zwift and Sensors, the watch pushes the data it gets only through. Its unidirectional.

If you want to disable the data from the tri, you would have to disconnect that from the belt but it makes any sense to do that.
