Open water jumps to the middle of the ocean

In most of my open water swims the 945 records the route OK but adds the Coordinates 0N/0E from time to time. It shows on the map as if I swim from the Mediterranean across all Africa to the ocean...

It sometimes happens once and sometimes more.

Anu ideas?

It looks that 5.20 solved the problem. 2 open water swims since the update were OK. THX.

It occurs when the watch is under water for too long time. It shouldn't be like that, but that is what happens. Report to Garmin Support: http://support.garmin.com/

i had the same problem last week and oddly it's always the same waypoint in africa south of Ghana. And when i export the gpx file, the track is OK....

Yep, the GPX is ok, I don't know does Garmin do some filtering that remove 0,0 points. They should do the same filtering when showing the track.

I'm not sure what does the fit file contain as I don't usually play with it. Would be interesting if someone would look inside of those are there really those 0,0 coordinate points or what is going on.

This point is the crossing of latitude 0 and longitude 0 - somehow the 945 record 0/0.

Garmin support told me that software version 5.20 should solve this. I just updated to it and will check next week.

After updating the device to the 5.20 software update, please message me if you continue to see the issue and I can get it reported for you.
