Complaint on routing

I've been creating my routes for my runs on Garmin Connect.  When I run, I get a nice beep about 100 feet before the turn, an arrow at the bottom of the map screen telling me which way to turn, and another beep when I'm supposed to actually turn.  This works really well to keep me on track.

A week or so ago I've run every street that I can reach from my house on a weekday morning.  And so I decided to use the watch's random route generator.  The map screen is far less friendly now.  Instead of the big arrow at the bottom of the screen, I now get an arrow on the map itself.  And running in the early morning when it's still dark, that arrow is far harder to see.  I've had to stop once or twice just to figure out what the heck I'm supposed to do.

Is there any way to have the same routing screens for the watch generated routes as the Garmin Connect generated routes?

Unfortunately I don't think this is possible... I mean you can make the routes from garmin connect suck the same way as those generated on the watch by using map instead of course for routing, but the other way around is not possible.

  • If it helps:
The app on your mobile can also create these routes, maybe it works for you.
Go to training -> routes -> add new -> automatic.
