FR945 and Polar OH1+

I just have Polar OH1+ and connect with FR945 via ANT+.

I want to ask what should I do when running to make sure the Heart Rate Data on FR945 Running Screen is from Polar OH1+, not from FR945 Optical Heart Rate itself.

  • It should do it automatically and you should notice that the Green LEDs under the watch aren't on. I use a H10, it connects automatically and when I go into an activity screen, it will tell me that an Ext Heart Rate device is connected.

Just Power On the device and wait for Ext Heart Rate connected, right?

  • This is my current config and it works flawlessly . When you start recording your run, just look under your watch and see if the wrist HR is off. If yes, the the OH1 is connected. However, you have to start the activity for the wrist HR to stop. On the screen that you have before starting the activity, the OH1 will show as connected but the wrist HR will still be on. That could be misleading.

  • There is more to it. If you use Garmin Pay the WHR stays on even if you use an external HRM because it is used to detect when the device is taken off the wrist.

  • It doesn’t stay on during an activity (Garmin Pay not activated on my watch - I am in Canada and Pay is almost not supported).

no idea how it behaves if Pay is activated.
