Podcasts on Spotify - Whats happening?

I have no problems syncing my playlists on my home wifi, or listening music or podcasts on my 945.

But downloading podcasts is a different story. For starters I have to manually choose the new episodes, which is odd, but I guess it's by design. I can live with it.

The real problem comes from downloading it. Or better, try to downloading it..

The Garmin App always fails halfway downloading the episode. Ultimately I discovered that I have to keep restarting it, restarting it, restarting... sometimes it advances 1 or 2%, sometimes 5%... I have to restart and restart and restart. Fortunately it goes instantaneously to the percentage it was previous to fail, but then it keeps there, struggling to advance. Then it downloads a bit more before failing. Most of the times it fails without advanacing.

Right now I'm downloading a podcast that refuses to advance more than 69%... it's failing since 50%... I already restarted countless times. But fails constantly, refuses to go behond 69%.

Is it just me? What can be done?

  • I sync podcasts regularly to my watch (Fenix 5+), and I have no problems. But since podcast episodes can be quite large, are you sure your wifi strength is high enough where you sync? The watch has quite a small battery for wifi, so even the manuals say it's a good idea to be near the wifi router (and at least make sure there are no walls between the watch and the router).

  • I can be 3m away or leave the watch next to the router. Same behavior. Oddly syncing playlists never fails, could be one floor above the router. The files are smaller but even so, failing podcasts next to the router, there has to be other explanation.

  • I have the same issue even with the 6.2 version and latest spotify app installed.

  • Just forget spotify for podcasts. Look for playrun.app. It's great, like spotify should be for podcasts and much more
