Calories burnt

Hi guys, day 2 of my Garmin watch and I’m loving it, so much better than the old Fitbit.

anyway, do these numbers look correct to you,I seem to be burning a lot of calories,

it’s just walking in a field.

My BMR is around 2.4k

can you actually burn 400 calories in that time from just walking ?

thanks guys

  • Make sure your MaxHR, height, weight, age, gender and activity class are all correct. An average HR of 138 vs your pace seems quite high.  Were you using the oHRM?

Hi Tess, I’m quite unhealthy and previously sedentary, but I was wearing a weighted vest. I’ll check those settings though, thanks

  • 431 calories seems reasonable for that heart rate for 37 minutes.

But I agree with Tess, the HR seems high for that pace, but not necessarily infeasible if you are unfit and carrying a weight vest.

I absolutely love that attitude!  It's never too late to improve one's self.  Good for you and keep it up.  Don't let anyone or anything tell you that you can't reach your goals. Keep in mind that these forums aren't just for device support. If you ever start to feel down, or feel what you're doing is wrong or not enough, don't get discouraged. People here will help you stay on track.

Soon enough you'll be saying that no more.
