Voice prompts with interval training

Is it just me who thinks its funny how the voice promts with interval training comes after an interval and not before. For example if I do  3-2-1 running intervals the 3 minutes voice promt will come after the 3 minutes and not before. I would have thought that the voice must tell you what to do next rather than what you just did

The reason for this is that the voice prompts are basically reflecting the lap information shown on the watch rather than the step information when doing a structured workout.

  • Agree, it is a bit odd that there isn't much instruction for the Interval steps, although the 945 Screen instruction/data is much improved from my 235.  With cold weather here and winter approaching it would be nice to get audible instruction to prevent the need to look at watch that's hidden under coat/gloves.  Usually I keep my workouts pretty straight forward so isn't too big of a deal and the over/under Pace (or HR) is usually good enough for me for the most part.

I don't like when I am shooting for a certain pace range... then when done it just tells me the time to complete it... not my average pace of it.  Sure would be nice to know at the end of each Rep, a quick note on if I was on high or low end of range...etc.  To kind of track the set's pacing.

I haven't tried this myself, but what happens if you edit which datafields are used in the autolap settings?

  • i use Voice prompts regulary for running, but i only use Heartbeat Alarms every Minute and of course the lap information of my strcuctured Training, before the next interval starts, the watch is beeping &vibrating (Countdown), thats the first indicator to prepare for the Intervall, sure the heartbeat and lap information is a little bit delayed on the start of interval, but it's also a little bit delayed at the end.

That means, you have a minimal offset, but the interval have the correct length, this works with short speed intervals too!

I connect my BLT Jabra to my Mobile Phone and i am listening Music via Amazon Music and GCM (Android) gives me the Voice Prompts then, think, this is the best setup, forget to do this directly on the watch with connected ear buds

i create my power based structured trainings with Training Peaks and send them to the watch, where i use them with Drews Interval App, so i can use Power Alarms for my Stryd too (but only beeping & vibrating on the watch)

EDITH: if you use Lap (of your Interval) ,Heartbeat & Pace Voice Prompts the spoken prompt takes longer, think it's better to use only Lap for your intervals and one of the two others, so the voice prompt isn't to long

i disabled Auto Lap Settings, so the Lap comes only for my Interval start/end

and sorry, my english isn't the best Relieved
