How to stop playing music?

Very basic question, just ot make sure I am doing everything right.

I am listening to mp3 i have locally on my pc and copied to my watch. I can listen to them fine and no big issues.

Say i am listening to a song and I just want stop (say because I was in the train and I got to final destination or because i was running and my session is over and I am back home).

What I am doing so far is to pause the song and put the earbuds back in the case.

By doing so, the watch remembers not only what song I was listening to but also how far i got in the song. When i go back to listening to music i find that same song at the very moment i left it. Even if three days went by and i switched off the watch in the meantime.

Is it fine doing so, or there is a way to "reset the music"?

I am fine with this behavior, just worried that it might have to keep something runnign in the background and drain a lot of battery.
