Sudden Loss of Battery 945

Having had no issue with battery life since purchase in January, over the last couple of days, a full charge doesn’t even last a day now?

i have usually used it for 5/6 days running with music every day before it needing a charge and now it is literally clinging on by mid day. Don’t use Pulseox, it’s not on my wrist all day, don’t use any other functionality other than my morning Run.

does anyone have any ideas why this may be? Is it a known fault with a Garmin 945? I know I could always turn literally everything g of to get it to survive a little longer, but it’s never been an issue before so I don’t see that as a long term solution.

  • Maybe you install some new watch face or widget that can couses a problem. If do remove it... Watch face was mess my altimeter so... Could be Grin

  • I had the same problem with my watch. Even after a hard reset and without installing anything from Connect IQ i was losing almost 40% battery in a single night.

The solution? After contacting garmin support i send the watch to them and receive a new one that is losing what i find the normal.

Unfortunately, I’ve not changed anything on the watch at all. It’s worked perfectly since I’ve owned it, but the last few days it’s been awful. Thanks for the suggestion though

I’ve contacted Garmin, who aren’t open on a weekend, to explain the issue in the hope they will either help me fix the issue or replace it

  • I had the same issue last night. I think it was the first time it happened to me this week, but I am watching it closely now. I know for a fact that I charged my FR945 to 100% yesterday in the mid to late afternoon. When I was getting ready for my long run this morning, I was surprised to see the battery down to 23%. I was only able to get it charged up to 46% before I needed to get out the door to beat the heat. I ended up having to cut my run short, as I was running out of battery. Got down to 3% by the time I was done.

When this has happened to me in the past, it has usually been due to a forced firmware upgrade from Garmin. I'd be interested to see what they report to you and if you are still having the issue.

  • this made me laugh, thanks for that.

you really had to cut your run short, because your garmin ran out of battery :D ?
