Using OWS setting in outdoor pool?

My outdoor pool is only 33ft long which is around 10 meters, but the shortest you can customize I believe is 17 meters. Can I use the open water swim setting to swim in my outdoor pool? Or will it not work as there’s no natural body of water. I just want to record my swim and given I can get across in 7-8 strokes and one breath, I lose track of how many I’ve done to enter as a manual workout. Thanks for any suggestions

OWS will give you some data but might not be too useful. Certainly won't record the number of lengths and given the length of the pool and time you spend submerged at each turn, I'd expect the distance to be well short too. Try it and see what you get.

The alternative is to set the pool length for 20m and an alert for however many lengths you want an alert for. You'll get the length alert and will just have to halve the distance when the data is uploaded.

I use OWS for my pool. Distance is about 12.5 meters. GPS isn't perfect, but its not terrible for it either.

In theory yes, but the accuracy won't be great. https://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/performance/accuracy/ The error as a % of a short distance would be high. It improves slightly if you stop at each end to let the GPS saturate.
