Courses are totally broken

So I design a course I want to run, send it to Garmin connect, load it on the watch.

Then I go outside and select "Do course", then it says "calculating" and I know from experience this takes like 20 min to finish.

So I start running anyway, and finally like 20 min later the calculating is compete, but it doesn't show the course and instead directs me back to the start of the course!

So I reselect "Do course", another 20 min pass before it's loaded and I can follow the route. But then when switching screens sometimes the course disappears from the map.

Of course, I get lost cause I can't see where I am going. Then the watch tries to calculate a new route which takes another 20 min, before it says: "Error unable to calculate route: out of memory". But I also don't understand why it tries to recalculate a new route if I go slightly off course. It should direct me back to the course. I designed this route so I could follow it exactly as-is. The watch then routed my back home on a very bad route, not the one I wanted to follow (on a road and not the trail).

-What is the point of giving it a route if it's then going to make it's own decisions where to go-

-Why is the watch so slow to make these readjustments. (20 min is useless)

-Can I disable the rerouting done by the watch?
