945 adding yards in OWS, GPS version says 4.1

I am getting lots of extra yards on my 945 when OWS and the longer I swim the more it adds in error. I am swimming with others who have 945 and 935 and 920 - same course - and their yards are all about the same, mine are always much higher - 500 yds or so.

I have software version 4.4 and GPS version 4.1 when I look in Settings, System, About. everything I read says GPS version is 2.9. I have called for support twice. Once I was told to update my maps in Garmin Express. Did that, 3 hours later GPS version still says 4.1. Second call I am told GPS version 4.1 is fine and to try going back to factory defaults. Can anyone help? Similar issue?

I am on version 4.40 and GPS 4.10 with the latest non-beta updates to my 945. This is in the US.

Thanks for confirming you have same versions perhaps it’s correct what I have. I am also in US. Have you had any issues with open water swimming tracking yards?
