TopoActive Europe 2020.10: Map Update Error

Hi, I am trying to update map by Garmin Express (via USB) in my watch, but during downloading/installing something goes wrong and process finished unsuccessfully :(

No in fact it goes exactly to 50% then does something and failed. Is that 50% like downloading the map, and another 50% to copy it to watch or what.

I get the same n a 945, with a clean download folder it get to 50%, if I retry it gets to about 30%.

In the log I can see:

The strange thing is that it looks like it finished downloading the files from the servers and is trying to install on the watch when the error occur.

If you remove the downloads in

C:\ProgramData\Garmin…

The new garmin express can't connect to the garmin's server ... so not good again or yet ...

I installed the new map as well. After updating it took a very long time untill the watchface appeared, installing the map. I made some routes but when i choose one i only get a white screen when zooming out i only see a basemap no details. When i use around me i onley see the watchr spinnig endlessly. So there’s definitely something wrong with the up date. Maybe tomorrow i will try to instaal the map again.

I think so. There's no reason for them to sit on your PC taking up space.
Connect works online and your watch has them, so... all good to go!

Besides if need be, Express will download them again anyway.
I've deleted them from my PC.

Reinstalled the map. Now everything is fine

Do you have situation that loading map during watch startup is much longer than before this map update?

I think so, but I managed to get it from 2 minutes and 26 seconds to "just" 1 minute after reinstalling maps, so that the loading maps didn't take forever after the map install.

This 1 minute still seems longer than it used to be, but it might also be that I'm wrong about that :D What's your startup time and have you tried to reinstall maps?

EDIT: Added what maps I do have. The normal maps and TopoActive Europe and better map for Finland https://kartat.hylly.org so I'll get the contours :)
