Dear All

This was asked yrs ago, just wanna see if something new came up:

on my FR945 I see a bunch of different activities. Are they documented anywhere??

I would have tons of questions....

Whats the difference bw Run vs Trail Run? Pilates vs Yoga? Ski vs Snowboard? Hike vs Climb? Stair Stepper vs Floor Climb?

What is Breathwork?

What on earth is Project Wpt?

Thanks as always!

I guess no answer means no doc?

  • The differences between activities varies.

Sometimes it is just the name so that you can track different types of activity.

Sometimes it is just the default data screens (which you can edit) or the ability to customize things like autostop, backlight, etc.

Sometimes it is which sensors are activated (eg. indoor activities typically leave the GPS off)

For some more popular activities, the HR and GPS algorithms are tweaked to reflect the movement patterns typical to that activity. eg. Running, Open Water Swimming.

An important difference between Run and Trail Run is that Trail Run does not calculate VO2Max.

Stair stepper versus floor climb accounts for the fact that you are climbing even if the altimeter says no change.

Breathwork is an activity where you practice controlling your breathing, diaphragm versus shoulder muscles for your lungs, etc (don't ask me, I don't really know much about it)

Project Waypoint is something to do with navigating to a fixed point.
