Elliptical Activity on FR945

Is there any difference at all bew the Elliptical and Cardio Activity? They look the same to me...

More importantly, I was hoping that the elliptical activity could trace how fast I pedal (or spin.. I wouldnt know what word to use)

and give me stats like total number of spins, avg number of spins and so on.

But I dont see such stats even though I guess they would be trivial to get for a FR945 since the movements of the wrist are always perfectly identical...

If I am right and there are indeed no such stats, how can I ask garmin to implement?

Thank you!

Besides Running, Cycling, and Swimming activities tracked are merely for database purposes, so you can find activities fast, if you do many different sports over a long period of time. Some activities might have a different coefficient to calculate calories burnt but basically they're just named differently so you don't have to specify for yourself.

Since an Elliptical trainer works with varying resistance on the trainer itself, and varying step lengths between different models, how often you spin (revolutions per minute) is not telling anything at all, thus a useless metric for Elliptical activities. If you want RPM you can always use the running profile and disable GPS, and get cadence. That said, every Elliptical trainer shows RPM anyway, no need for it on the watch.

    Hi phl0w

I am not sure I understand the first part of your answe.. Are you saying that apart from Running/Cycling/Swimming all activities are the same (apart from the name)?

Wrt the second part, you re underestimating the relevant  fact that I use always the very same model so it d be very useful for me to have my cadence (avg, max, min, graph of cadence vs time and so on). I would then be able to compare it across training sessions..
