Garmin FR 945. stuck at firmware 1.12

Hi, I got a FR 945 but did not use for some time. Now I am using it again as I am keen to use the virtual runner function

However, I have not been able to update to 4.4 due to some unknown reason.

i have tried

- auto update

- garmin connect

- transfering update files into the watch and running the software

but im still stuck at 1.12.

My hypothesis is that the watch is unable to update from 1.12 to 4.5 and need some interim updates such as to v2 or v3.

I am wondering if anyone can help?

Have you tried Garmin Express?

What do you mean by doesn't work.

Can you add a screenshot here of the Garmin Express when your watch is connected to the computer with USB cable?

Doesn't it show it has any update?

Is the watch APAC version or regular one?

Provided it is not an APAC model, have you tried a manual update to the latest beta firmware?

Hi, it does not show any udpate. it shows that it is already v 4.2 but as you can see my watch says it is still at 1.12

I have tried manual update as well by transferring the latest files into the watch and running the installation. still does not work..

On the watch go to Settings>system>software updates in the event the update is already on the watch, just not installed yet

It is not there. I have clicked installed it and yet after the restart the watch shows this and no option for virtual run...

If you want to be certain of help from Garmin Support you should contact them directly.

The following steps wilt clear all your data and settings but might be worth trying:

Power down

Press top left then press and hold top and bottom right as soon as you see the blue triangle.

Release top right after first beep. Release bottom right after second beep.

Connect to Garmin Express and try updating.
