Workout Audio Prompts

I am developing my cycling workouts in TP & successfully syncing them with my Garmin 945 but audio announcement when moving to the next step in the workout are for what I have just completed rather than what my next step is.  Is there a way to correct this?  I have been unable to find a setting or anything in the documentation to make this change.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Did you find a resolution to this. I get the same with running and telling me what I have done is not too helpful !

  • Its not a prompt for the last step, but for the last lap.

    Also, in latest FW, audio prompts are in English, not in German anymore.

  • Your right. Is it possible to have it prompt for the next lap instead ?

  • Im not sure. The way it is now, it is since Garmin enabled audio prompts with the help of smartphones (for years already).
    Would be nice to get workout guidance instead, but I know no way to enable that. At least not on the FR945.

  • I have always found it confusing as well, obviously during a normal run/ride, a summary of the lap you just finished makes sense.  During a planned structured workout however...  you want to know whats next and the range.  'beep... sprint zone 6 power for 1minute' or 'beep... recover 120 to 140bpm for 5minutes' etc.

  • Thanks - looks like there is not a setting I missed. I will log it as a feature request.

  • In order to implement that feature, Garmin will have to develop a more sophisticated voice synthesizer. It is not the same to say "Lap 1, time 4:23, HR 155", than saying whatever text you might define as a workout step. I wouldn't expect this feature very soon...

  • Why? Its not that hard to say 500m at 4:45-5:15? The data is more or less the same like that for previous laps.

  • Try to create a workout session in Garmin Connect and you will find out a lot of different possibilities that would have to be implemented as voice instructions. Is not rocket science, but it is more complicated... Anyway, Garmin can do it if  they want...

  • Also, in latest FW, audio prompts are in English, not in German anymore.

    There are two slightly different language settings in Garmin Connect Mobile:

    * Devices> General> Language

    * Activity Options> Audio Prompts> Language

    You may want to check BOTH of these. If necessary, you may want to change them to something else, and sync, then change them back to German and sync again.
