Firm 4.40 no more garmin HR strap and HRM strap connection

As the title says... it was ok up to now. Yesteday used the hrm and then realized that was no connection. Today before starting the activiryni tried .. re connection, deleting and nothing happend. Inmediately tried with my 920xt and was ok.

Then tried with the old garmin hr.. the same. No connection, retry retry..nothing.... deleted.. Adding as new..impossible.

Tried with my 920xt.... perfect.

So the problem seems to be the new firmware 4.40.

I turn off the watch several times to make some magic happen... no results.

Any clues?

Ps: the optical heart rate still sucks.

Since latest firmware, I'm also having major ant+ connection problems with my HRM Tri. Restarting the watch can help, but the connection drops frequently during runs. The HR data downloads from the strap…

I had the same issue in my watch after firmware update, but in my case restarting watch fixed it.

same here. restarted, now the watch is frozen at loading maps screen. factory reset seems the only option. thanks Garmin for again pushing out a faulty update.

phillip: nothng happened.... oh yes!! i lost all data and configuration!!! :))

tried with the 920XT...perfect...

tried with edge 820...perfect....

great 4.40 firmware garmin!!!

That’s because you obviously did a factory reset. Hard rest you will only lose any activity data that has not synched.

That aside, take the battery out and either leave it out for a minute or two or put it back reversed, then try re-pairing.

Well, I did not. I did a normal

hard reset and it froze at loading maps. Then I had to do a factory reset.

I did it. Nothing happened. Also the edge 820 and the 920xt are working perfect with both hr and hrm.

What is a hard reset? Is it better than factory reset? Thanks

hard reset is holding the light button until the unit powers off. it doesn't require you to set up the watch all new, that why i tried it first, but without any luck. users in the edge 520/plus forum are describing similar HRM/ sensor dropouts with the new firmware on that device...

I'm having drop-outs with Stryd, never had this pre 4.40 before (see screenshot of my treadmill walking). Will have to test my HRM as well.

And yes, I did several soft resets before this walk.

OK, did another treadmill walk today with my HRM-Run. So far no drop-outs with both my HRM-Run or my Stryd. I'm still not convinced as yesterdays walk was dreadfully high on drop-outs. I guess this firmware is not as stable as it should be.
