Gps inaccurate all of a sudden.

Looking at today's run, the shape of the track is accurate but the actual location on the map is off by about 300m south west. I've made no changes to settings between the previous run snd this one. 4.20 firmware with 2.90 gps.

Anyone else ever experience this before?

Usually the tracks are accurate. I've tested again this evening and walked 200 meters from my front door and back in a circle and again it's off on the map by about 30m and has me starting and ending at another house

I just use GPS setting, although just changed to GPS + galileo

  • This happened to me a couple of weeks ago right after the 4.20 upgrade. The shape of the track was accurate, but was it shifted about a mile to the NE. Just after mile 3 the track bounced all over the place for about a quarter mile, but then the track went accurate again, but had now shifted to about 1/2 a mile to the NE. Between miles 10 and 11 the track stretched and shifted itself into the correct location, and the was dead on the last 6 mile. After the run, I powered down and restarted the watch which I like to do after every update. I couldn't remember whether I had done that after the 4.20 update and the screwy run. The 18 activities since have been good. I'm in the habit now of checking the map and making sure the GPS is looked in on the correct start location before I start an activity. My GPS is set to GPS + GLONASS.

  • I did another quick test last night, started a run and went for a 200 m walk from my front door. The track was showing it started and finished a street over from where I was.

This morning I did the same test with gps and Galileo and it was back to normal. Not sure if there was a blip or the change in gps settings did anything.
