This is a big fail by Garmin, I see that this question was asked about 8 months ago, but still no answers and the functionality doesn't exist.
Sort yourselves out Garmin, this is basic and has worked on all my watches since the 310XT!!!

What sensors are you using with your 945 when running on a treadmill, and how long was the last run you tried to calibrate on? Please check out the link below since it may have some info to help you. If…
I have read of multiple reports of bike smart trainers messing with treadmill run cadence/distance! So YES, it is messing it up most likely. I would pull power on the Wahoo and give it a try.
The functionality is there and working.
You habe to run further than 2km to enable it.
Don’t use a Footpod or a treadmill sensor like RUNN (wich emulates a Footpod).
The function was working yesterday on a 5km run. No footpod connected.

If you aren't seeing the menu option, that is something very different that we will gladly help you resolve.
I didn't know that I had to lose the garmin footpod. However the function seems to have disappeared again with SW 4.40.

Thank you, I will try again when my ankles can take the strain, it must have been user error.
Hello, this is still not working for me. I just ran 4 miles on my treadmill, my 945 thought it was .2. When I hit Stop there was no Save and Calibrate option. Only Save.
I have no running sensors. My Wahoo is near my treadmill, and that sensor connects but it should not be involved in a run.
HELP?
- this is one of the biggest issues I have - why do they not have separate sensor configs for different sports?
Every time I ride my indoor bike it says 'Stryd' connected (as my shoes are by the side) - and the same when I'm on the treadmill - my stages power crank connects
This needs fixing.
I have been with Garmin for almost 3 years and I understand that their devices work "quite" well if you do almost everything manually (as well as many smartphones for example, I work in telecommunications), if you enable everything automatically, SW conflicts are created that slow down processes and excessively drain the battery. The external sensors give a good help to the system but must be enabled only when the specific activity is required and then turned off, as well as the wi-fi and the calibration of the barometric altimeter, the foot pod is essential in all activities running, otherwise the data is too unstable even with RDP that only manages advanced dynamics. This is just my opinion by doing several tests and comparing the data collected.
