  • first run with 4.29, so far pretty fine, but....
after saving the activity the menu of the "run-overview" was english. also now when i take a look in the stats, but the values are german then.
rest of my watch was and is still german.

battery seems also fine so far. 25 hours since full charge and i'm on 88% still, wearing all day with bluetooth on and wifi enabled.
also a first slow run with a bit more than an hour.

  • The same thing happened to me, at the end of the course I got data in English and my watch is in Spanish

  • so new gps did not improve anything?

  • 935 with GPS+Galileo was best I've ever seen, but then we got Sony's chipset and the GPS track went to somewhere really years ago quality.

I went to forest, and had only 945 so can't really compare, but I'm not waiting for miracles, I can't see that 945 can be on the 935 level as the hardware just seems to be worse on accuracy.

Hoping the next one having better gps chipset again.

  • indeed, the 935 was good as well - unfortunately i sold it and kept only the 920 - which is also good, although i don't really like the shape. i'm having this one for about 5 years - and it's still going strong with a battery that's holding for about 12h, at least last time i've checked. the 945 is nice, unfortunately the sony chip - from my experience - is not as accurate as the mediatek. perhaps other users have good experiences with it, perhaps some are not complaining and don't care, but i'm pretty much affected. and a buddy of mine who's having a fenix6pro get's even worse tracks: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4705868031 . but it is what it is, the device is 1 year old, so next year or even sooner we might an upgrade / replacement that hopefully will use a different chipset. time will tell...

  • i would say only marginal improvements - for me the tracks around the park with the 2.90fw were really bad (i've backed this with several activities, printscreens and so on) - with the new fw looks just a bit better, but still not on par with what the 920 delivers.

  • Missing localization is usual in Garmin betas and normally jones out in public release. I realized it to on my German watch today. Did you report it?

  • What about Ski Touring? Blush

  • I'm very happy for backcountry skiing... Stuck out tongue....

    But for next year Expressionless

    Now : treadmill !!!

  • Could you please fix the resting calories so it doesn't include a factor 1.2 in the calculation? With the 945 you are able to count every active calorie, so it doesn't make sense to calculate resting calories as RMR = BMR*activity level (1.2 for 0). If you would add the option to have the pure BMR instead of RMR, the watch would work much better with MyFitnessPal and you could actually use the daily calories in your dieting. Fingers crossed!
